If a ski area expert could do a free-flow design of his dream terrain, he would come up with the Austrian Alps. The relatively low elevation of the villages, 750 to 1,500 meters (2,500 to 5,000 feet) treats vacationers from low-lying metropolitan areas gently, eliminating altitude discomfort and making adjustment easy. |

Austria, although small as countries go, is a world power in uphill transportation: more than 4000 lifts of all types make short work of getting skiers up to the top of ski runs. One ski complex often incorporates as many as 70 lifts, all available on one lift pass; “skiers seesaws” open up two opposite faces of the same mountain, tying villages in different valleys together into one large ski region. Where direct links by ski runs and lifts are not practical, shuttle buses, generally free for holders of valid lift tickets, provide the links to nearby ski areas.

| Innsbruck |
 |
|
There is more than one reason for travelling to Innsbruck, but obviously the main one is the skiing.
Twice host town to the winter Olympics, Innsbruck lies in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps and is
surrounded by seven different ski regions, including the Stubai Glacier. At altitudes ranging from
900m - 3200m, you can be assured of sun and powder snow from early winter well into the spring.
Innsbruck has a rich cultural heritage which has taken 800 years to evolve. In terms of museums,
Innsbruck is, after Vienna, Austria’s most important city. No fewer than 18 museums provide pportunities to view classical, modern and popular
art of the highest quality. You will see magnificent buildings in the heart of the town, impressive works of art in imperial residences, churches and museums. The pedestrian centre of the medieval city is packed with history waiting to be explored. As far as the hopping and the off-mountain experience, Innsbruck has everything expected from an alpine metropolis.

Located 100 km east of Innsbruck in the Tirol
region, Kitzbühel is one of the most beautiful Alpine
towns in Austria. Its après-ski scene is renowned
and so is its extensive terrain, excellent for
intermediate skiing. At the heart of its international
status is the Hahnenkamn, the toughest downhill on

| St.Anton / Lech |
 |
|
St. Anton lies approximately 120 km west of
Innsbruck in the heart of Austria’s Tyrolean Alps.
It is a picture postcard village, with its pedestrian
centre and the right mixture of rusticity, chalet-style
roofs and vibrant après-ski and nightlife. The
region boasts a network of ski villages including St.
Anton’s prestigious, but tiny satellite, St. Christoph,
sophisticated Lech and Zürs and the more sport
focused St. Anton and Stuben. They are all
accessed with the same Arlberg ski pass. For the big
verticals, the long runs, the variety and degree of
difficulty, St. Anton is indisputably one of the best
Austrian ski resorts, a true world-class destination.
