Situated in Jasper National Park, only 20 minutes from the authentic mountain town of Jasper, Marmot Basin offers 3,000 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding spread over 1,675 acres of diverse terrain suitable for all abilities.  Here you will find everything from long, perfectly groomed novice trails to high alpine bowls and steep chutes filled with dry, Rocky Mountain powder.  Marmot Basin is one of the least crowded ski areas of its kind on North America, so there's no waiting in lift lines.

Congratulations on selecting Jasper as your Skican vacation destination!  Although Marmot Basin is best known for its terrific skiing/riding, the area offers plenty of additional activities for you to enjoy during your stay.

Snowshoeing

For those who like to get off the beaten path, Jasper National Park has plenty of terrain available for snowshoeing. You can rent the latest models of snowshoes at several outdoor shops in Jasper.

Ice Walk

The Maligne Canyon is the perfect spot for an ice walk. Guided tours commence at the top of the canyon, then wind their way down to the canyon floor.

Wildlife Tours

Wildlife toursexplore the stunning Maligne Lake region. The winter wildlife can include moose, caribou, bull elk, big horn sheep, wolves, coyotes and more.

Dog Sledding

Tours last about 3 hours and give you a great taste of this exciting activity while you enjoy the crisp mountain air and breathtaking scenery.

Museums

The Jasper Yellowhead Museum features displays that reflect the natural and cultural history of Jasper National Park and the Yellowhead Corridor. Displays go back to the early explorers of the region and continue onto the fur trade and the development of the railroad. The museum also features a gallery dedicated to local artists.
