Terms and Conditions

Every effort has been made to ensure details are accurate.Skican reserves the right to correct any errors or omissions that may inadvertently appear or have been overlooked on this website.

Deposit and Payment Schedule
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, money order, Visa, or Mastercard.

Deposit: $400 per person is required at time of booking to secure reservation for Western Canada. 

For Europe and United States a deposit of $500 per person is required

For special packages or properties requiring special payments, additional deposits may be required.  These will be identified at time of booking.

Balance of Payment: Final payment on all bookings is required no later than 55 days prior to departure date.

Bookings within 55 Days of Departure: Full payment required at time of booking.

Bookings within 32 days: payment by credit card only. 

Changes to standard packages:  A deviation fee of $50 per person will apply in addition to any change in airfare or other package components.

Charges For Cancellation
From time of booking to 45 days prior to departure - forfeiture of deposit per person.
From 44 days to 33 days prior to departure - forfeiture of $800 per person.
From 32 days to date of departure - forfeiture of total holiday price.

NOTE:  Name changes are not permitted by airlines.  Change is considered a cancellation and re-booking and are subject to availability and price changes.

Unused tour features are non refundable.

Skican strongly recommends all travellers consider trip cancellation & medical insurance offered here.

Revisions to Accommodation and Departure Dates - Subject to $50 administrative fee plus any cancellation or change fees charges imposed by the supplier.  If original occupancy in accommodation is reduced, the remaining travellers may be subject to additional charges to cover the cost of the unit.

Charges for Bookings within 15 days of departure - are subject to a fee of $25 to cover additional administration costs.

Conditions on Children's Rates
Children rates are applicable when children are sharing accommodation with full paying adults as follows:

Hotel room; Studio/kitchenette; 1 bedroom condo: 2 full paying adults, 2 bdrm condo: 4 full paying adults, 6 full paying adults in a 3 bedroom condo. If additional beds (cribs, cots) are required there may be an additional charge.

Note: discount for paying by cheque not applicable to children’s rates.

Travel Identification Requirements
Travel packages within Canada – photo I.D. is required to board all aircraft. Each traveller is responsible for carrying proper photo identification as required by all relevant agencies.  A valid passport is mandatory for all non-Canadian citizens.

Travel packages outside of Canada - a passport valid until return date is mandatory for travel to the United States.  For Europe a passport is mandatory and must be valid for at least 3 months after the date of expected return to Canada (6 months for Switzerland).

Non-Canadian/US citizens may require additional documents to enter Canada, USA or Europe.  It is the travellers' responsibility to research and obtain the required information and documentation.

It is the clients' responsibility to ensure that all names on the invoice/itinerary are exactly the same as on each person's travel identification.  The airline tickets will be issued with the names as they appear on the invoice/itinerary.  Therefore, any changes must be made upon receipt of the invoice/itinerary.

Airline Pricing, Flight Times and Scheduling
Flight times shown are accurate at time of printing and are subject to change. On occasion alternate flight schedules may be substituted to co-ordinate with ground transfers. It is the responsibility solely of the participant to confirm flight times.

Luggage fees are charged by all airlines flying to all destinations.  These fees are subject to change, are paid directly to the airline at time of check-in and are not included in Skican pricing.

Contractual Arrangements
Prices are based on the lowest available airfares at time of preparation.  As space may be limited during peak travel periods, package prices are subject to a surcharge based on airfares available at time of booking.  Current air travel costs (pre-paid airport improvement fees, fuel fees (except to Europe), security fees and air insurance charges) are included in Skican's prices.  Any increase subsequent to listing will be passed on.  Applicable fuel fees will be added to all European packages.

In contracting with holiday participants, Skican undertakes to arrange  the services referred when ever possible.  In the event Skican should find it necessary, Skican will arrange alternative services of comparable quality.  Skican acts only as agents for the carriers, hotels, ski areas and  to that extent this contact takes effect as between the participant and the suppliers on the terms offered by those suppliers, particulars of which Skican undertakes to provide for the participant on request.

Skican accepts no responsibility for the consequences of any events beyond its control, including but not limited to strikes, lockouts, government action, weather and snow conditions. In the event Skican finds it necessary to cancel a holiday, Skican's liability will be limited to the refund of all monies paid by the participant.  Skican accepts no responsibility for actual weather and skiing conditions at time of travel.

Skican accepts no responsibility for mechanical difficulties, delays, or missed flight connections due to such difficulties or delays, arising from the transportation services provided including motorcoaches, flight time changes or day of departures changes by Skican or the airline involved, nor for flights missed because of connecting flights due to weather, mechanical difficulties or other causes.

It has always been Skican's policy to avoid increasing prices as every effort is made to anticipate costs at time of travel, however, in the event unanticipated increases such as fuel costs or taxes occur, or where there are changes in the US dollar or foreign currencies, Skican and its principals reserve the right to charge participants for those increases.

Any claim against Skican must be made by the holiday participant in writing to Skican Ltd., 745 Mount Pleasant Rd., 3rd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M4S 2N4 within fourteen days of the scheduled return of the holiday.
