Let others procrastinate. Join Skican in Vina Del Mar, Valle Nevado, and Santiago (3-part trip) on the first Ski Escape of the season! You will be in the company of a small group of travellers who enjoy getting outside and being active. No hassle, all fun.
Start your trip with a view of the ocean and wine exploration in Vina Del Mar (Vineyard by the sea) for 1.5 days. It overflows with flowers, beaches, seafood, and quirky sites. Viña lets you go at whatever pace you want, so move as fast or as slow as you like here. Partake in a walking tour of the neighbouring town, Valparaiso, with a welcome reception included. And a visit to a winery with a site tour, wine tasting and lunch included on the way up to Valle Nevado.
Our ski home for 4 nights is Valle Nevado (= snowy valley), a modern ski resort in the El Plomo foothills of the Andes Mountains, just 90 minutes from Santiago. It boasts plenty of sunshine, beautiful vistas, and dry snow. Inspired by resorts in the French Alps, Valle Nevado has the most advanced lift system in South America and is a paradise for intermediate skiers and riders. NEW this year is access to the connected ski resort of La Parva, which offers more terrain to explore and stunning Andean viewpoints. You will rest in the Hotel Valle Nevado with half board and easy access to the slopes and village base amenities; shops, restaurants, and bars. This experience will offer only the best distractions and few decisions - it is summer after all!
A few tips for the ski portion of this adventure:
- While enjoying the dreamy groomers and off-piste terrain, keep an eye out for the rare Andean Condor soaring high above the treeline
- At day's end, enjoy tea or a pisco sour by the pool and chat with skiers from far-flung places
- Be sure to witness a vibrant pink sunset
The trip will end with 2 nights in Santiago. Join your host on a walking tour of the city. With the hotel centrally located, it’s easy to explore different parts of the city, including San Cristobal Hill, Cerro Santa Lucia, El Parque Bicentenario, and Bellavista. Santiago captivates with its assorted panoramas and its versatility. The Chilean capital comes to life for all who visit.

Your Host: Dillon Mallory is a long-time Skican team member and fan of Valle Nevado. He is a freestyle ski coach, rugby player, dog parent and Ottawa native. This will be his third time hosting the Valle Nevado Ski Escape. You will be in good hands.

Part one – July 23-24th. Start your ski trip with an ocean view.
- July 23rd - Private transfer with a local guide from Santiago airport (early morning to match flight arrival) to Valparaiso for a walking tour, then to Vina Del Mar
- July 23rd - Stay at the Hotel Pullman Vina Del Mar 4* (one night - breakfast included). Visit Acapulco Beach, Plaza Colombia, and museums, all within a short walking distance from the hotel. Welcome cocktail late afternoon. Group dinner at a local restaurant (optional, not included in package price)
- July 24th - Shuttle to the winery with tour, tasting, and lunch
Transfer to Valle Nevado, check in at Hotel Valle Nevado or Puerta Del Sol
Part two – July 24-28th. Ski at the famous Valle Nevado and La Parva
- 4 nights lodging at Hotel Valle Nevado 4* with half board included (double occupancy). Half board: Hot buffet breakfast and dinner included daily
- 4 days of skiing
- July 28th - Private transfer to Santiago mid-afternoon after skiing
Part three – July 28-30th. Discover Santiago
- July 28th - Stay at the Hotel Plaza San Francisco (breakfast included) for 2 nights
- July 29th - Guided walking tour included to explore Santiago
- July 30th - Free day to discover the historical center, and the beautiful parks, take a gondola up to Cerro San Cristobal, have lunch in the famous Patio Bellavista, and explore the local markets
- July 30th - Private Transfer from the hotel to the Santiago Airport
NOTE: There is the option to add a few ski days and explore Portillo for a 4-day ski add-on July 18-22nd, or a 3-day ski add-on July 29-August 1st. Please inquire for more information if this add-on is of interest.

Hotel Pullman Viña del Mar San Martín is right in front of the ocean, only a few steps away from Acapulco Beach, and the Plaza Colombia is about 5 minutes away.
It offers modern rooms with free WiFi and a rooftop year-round swimming pool with views. Other amenities include 24-hour concierge services, a fitness room, and one restaurant. Breakfast is included in the rate.
Hotel Valle Nevado
Includes half-board breakfast and dinner.
