This trip runs from March 7 to 14, 2026.
Located in the Kootenays Range of the Canadian Rockies on the Powder Highway, Fernie Alpine Resort is a skier's dream. It receives 29+ feet of snow annually and offers 2500 acres of terrain, 2800 feet of vertical, and five awesome wide open bowls. The mountain offers a tremendous variety of long, gladed runs through the pine trees on the lower mountain and lots of cruisers for all levels of skiing including the little ones you will have in tow. The weather is usually mild and the lift lines are low.
You will stay on the mountain at the Lizard Creek Lodge, which provides easy access to the snow, lifts, and the amenities of the comfortable base village. There are enough après-ski and dining options on the mountain to keep you happy and comfortable. But the quaint town of Fernie, which is rich in history and features turn-of-the-century architecture, is 10 minutes away from the ski resort. Explore the galleries and cafes, and enjoy a great range of bars, shops, and restaurants. This is the perfect destination for a Ski Escape.
